Inspiration behind the visit: Family owned vineyard handed down from generation to generation. The property has remained in the hands of Beaulieu family for at least 400 years to the present which is itself a record in Bordeaux. I have tasted Ch Coutet different vintages, with the owner, with friends in NY, and with wine family in Bordeaux. Ch. Coutet, a grand cru classé of St. emillion wine growing family is dedicated and passionate about organic farming and greatest respect for its environment. The beautiful landscape, Roman era inbuilt stone monument is symbolic.
Ch. Coutet, a Saint Émilion estate, received its organic certification in 2012. No chemical treatment has ever been used on the land – resulting in a unique flora and fauna not found on any other surrounding estate.
The estate received the Best of Wine Tourism in 2016 in the category of “environmental practices”.
