4th Grand Cru Classé 1855, Médoc Apellation: Saint – Julien.

UGCB tastings are always classy, grand, highly organized, a space for many professionals of wine industry. It’s been already 5 years, tasting “en primeurs” the fascination and revolution in wine industry changes every year, technical updates in barrel and vat rooms, the cautions and precautions at the field into the vineyards, just to be competitive, and step towards never-ending progress.

Here is my report on Chateau Talbot and Léoville Poyerré from Saint julien, medoc. A separate report will follow Chateau Gruaude Larose.

Chateau Talbot 2016 Barrel Sample (Saint – Julien); 93-96 points:

Médoc, grand cru classé, ch talbot comprises 107 hectares of vineyard cultivate in the heart of the saint -julizn commune, an outstanding appellation. Red wine from Talbot is typically a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon 66%, Merlot 26%, Cabernet France 3% and petit verdot 5% With an optimal maturity, the Château Talbot develops juicy, charming and generous wines, faithful to the legendary profile of the château. They offer beautiful notes of red and black fruits, tobacco and licorice, with a wonderful prospect of ageing.

Chateau Loville Poyferré 2016 Barrel Sample(Pauillac); 94-97 points:

Ch Léoville Poyferré testify to a marked improvement in quality. The modernization of the cellars, use of a higher proportion of new oak. Oenologist Michel ROLLAND, have finally raised Léoville Poyferré to the rank of the elite of Saint-Julien “. Beautiful ruby red colored with initial hint of black fruits and red fruits, polished and long tannins, nice silky feeling and structured at the same. I am definitely looking forward to taste once bottled and aged.
